This weekend I (re)learned 3 small things that really make me realize how fortunate I am.
Lesson 1 - I am lucky to have Aaron as a great husband and a wonderful dad to Parker. Maybe I didn't even relearn this but I sure as heck was reminded. Friday night I finally found a pair of pants to wear to Bloggy Boot Camp this coming weekend. I was invited to go shopping with some sweet friends Saturday but decided since I found the pants I didn't need to go. The shopping trip was going to be a little farther away than just a run to the mall, I was leaving Parker with Aaron next weekend and didn't want to leave him for another whole day (not that he isn't willing, I just like to be with the both of them) and I had the pants I needed. I declined the offer even though shopping sounded like a lot of fun.
After declining and telling Aaron he asked me why I wasn't going to go and I listed the above reasons to him and what I didn't expect was what he said next. You should just go, I'll keep Parker for the day, if you decline now they may not ask you the next time. Who could say no to that offer? A day of shopping without Parker or Aaron? Now I love them both dearly, but I cannot tell you in the past 22 months when I have gone shopping without Aaron or without a stroller. I got to carry my purse, no stroller to throw that bad boy in! I had a great time and am so thankful for Aaron to encourage me to create long lasting friendships while shopping!
Lesson 2 - If you have the opportunity to meet or even talk on the phone to blog friends DO IT! I have been nothing short of amazed at the women I have met from the *shudder* internet. I am not saying jump in blindly and invite them to your house for a first time meeting, but there are good people out there and if you don't (safely) put yourself out there you will lose. I have a hard time initiating meetings/conversations and I am thankful other ladies have put themselves out there first for me. This is a lesson I really am going to work on more. If I don't make the first step I could lose as well. Thank you Nichole, Eileen and Jessica for reminding me how great y'all are this weekend!
Lesson 3 - A little lighter (on the mind, not the belly). Mongolian barbecue is delicious. This was the tastiest lesson I relearned this weekend. I am ready to drive the 90 minutes back to the mall foodcourt for some more!
What did you learn or (re)learn this weekend?

I had a fabulous time meeting you, and am SO GLAD you decided to come! I can't wait til Saturday.
Sounds like you had a great weekend. Aaron and Parker are wonderful and I am very glad that they make you so happy. Otherwise Aaron would have to pay :) J/K We love Aaron. Where's your blog convention this weekend?
I'm so glad that you've made me feel comfortable putting myself out there because you know how scared I was. I know that you're a WONDERFUL person, but it's scary to think of calling a "random" person and sharing details about your life.
It has been such an eye-opening experience for me, as well! Because of you, I'm even more anxious to meet others. I just wish that we lived closer together! Move to Texas, Loni!!
Ok...I would SO invite you to stay at my place...does that mean I am too trusting?
Congrats on the pants...but even bigger congrats on the excellent husband! That is awesome that he would give you such a great gift of Loni time.
I can't wait to read about your Bootcamp shenanigans!
I agree; congrats on the supportive family AND the pants! Love Mongolian BBQ too; I've figured out how to construct the ingredients to maximize my first bowl...
Nice to meet you at Bloggy Boot Camp! Your cards & site design are so cool.
Thank you!
I am so grateful for your friendship. :)
Sometimes friends met online turn out to be the best ones!
